Receptionist – Bookkeeper

We’re seeking a person with professional receptionist abilities, appearance and conduct who applies the principles of accounting within assigned area of accounting (i.e. Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll) as well as assisting in other office functions.

PERSONALITY:
Outgoing, learns quickly, friendly, can work under pressure and maintain positive attitude, team player (willing to help anyone). Asks questions.

Pay: $17.50 to $24 per hour DOE/Q

General Description

• Records, classifies, and summarizes financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
• Uses software applications: specific accounting software Unanet, also Excel spreadsheets, MS Word, and Outlook.
• Track project expenses for travel, materials, shipping, and other appropriate expenses.
• Processes Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable with online direct deposits.
• Review timecards every Thursday to verify accuracy of time, projects, tasks, and labor codes.
• Enter and assist with documenting project budgets.
• Distribute weekly project progress reports.
• Responsible for monthly B&O and has a knowledge of quarterly employer tax reports and deposits.
• Update project/employee database in accounting software.
• Document and maintain current accounting support policies and procedures.
• Compose routine correspondence. Answer routine inquiries. Maintain good interactions with other departments to ensure requests are carried out.
• Provide Office Manager with timely, accurate information and assistant to the Office Manager with billing as well as financial statements and analyses.
• Front desk responsibilities of answering phones, receiving packages and other office tasks as needed.

Minimum Requirements

• Three or more years of recent computerized bookkeeping experience in a professional services firm.
• Must be computer proficient and have solid skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Accurate and organized.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements

• Sitting in a normal seated position for extended periods of time.
• Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.
• Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s) or arm(s), for example, using a keyboard.
• Communication skills using the spoken word.
• Ability to see and hear within normal parameters.
• Ability to exert up to twenty pounds of force occasionally, and /or up to ten pounds of force frequently.
