Hosted by the Yakima School District, The Yakima Valley Technical Skills Center (YV Tech) had created a wide range of successful industry-based programs. However, they were located in numerous locations throughout Yakima. The goal was to bring the various and contrasting career programs together into one facility. The use of exposed infrastructure and systems balanced with refined finishes echo the diverse school programs. Transparency, common gathering spaces, and sustainable building practices connect the varying programs to create an integral learning environment.  The students at YV Tech have expressed great pride in their building and are often found gathered in the common spaces before and after class.  YV Tech is now a cohesive school community that fosters leadership and encourages lifelong learning.
